ABOUT US
16 Days Penzance is a grassroots campaign group made up of people who live and work in West Cornwall. We are survivors, supporters, organisers, artists, and activists — all united by a shared commitment to ending men’s violence against women and girls.

Together, we are building a strong, united message:
Penzance does not accept violence against women and girls.
We welcome everyone to be part of the solution
Whether you’re attending an event, amplifying our message, or taking action in your own community – you are part of this movement.
Our group includes both women and men, and we’re proud to be connected to a wide range of local organisations and initiatives.
These include services supporting women and survivors, community food projects, local councillors and civic leaders, creative practitioners, and members of long-established local groups.
The epidemic of violence against women and girls must end – and it won’t end through silence or inaction.
We come together each year to take part in the global 16 Days of Activism – a UN Women campaign running from 25 November to 10 December.
Through events, outreach, and collaboration, we raise awareness and take local action on an urgent global issue.
While we recognise it’s not all men, we also know that all men can be part of the solution. To end gender-based violence, we must challenge the attitudes, behaviours, and inequalities that allow it to continue – from everyday sexism to institutional silence.
Thank you, Penzance
Now in our fourth year, 16 Days Penzance has grown into a powerful and visible part of the town’s calendar. Our campaign continues to gain momentum thanks to the people, organisations, and businesses who give their time, space, creativity and commitment to this vital cause.
We are proud to collaborate with a wide range of local partners – from schools, libraries and health settings to community food initiatives, artists, shops, Women’s Institutes, councillors, and emergency services.
The campaign is strongly supported by Penzance Town Council, and we’ve received funding through Cornwall Council’s Community Capacity Fund, part of the Good Growth Programme, which delivers the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
