About the Event

Join West Cornwall Women's Aid and community partners for a Solidarity Walk and Vigil on the Penzance promenade as part of the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

The walk will begin at 5:30pm from Wherrytown car park, opposite Lidl, continue past Jubilee Pool, and proceed up Chapel Street, finishing at St Mary’s Church.

At St Mary’s, we will gather for addresses from organisers, moving musical and dance performances, and the reading of the names of women killed by men this year, followed by a two-minute silence in remembrance.

Violence against women and girls is not only a women’s issue—it is a human rights issue that affects us all and demands a community response. We invite everyone—individuals, families, organisations, and groups—to walk with us, stand together, and raise our voices for change. Whether you come in solidarity, remembrance, or hope for a safer future, your presence matters.
