Description
After her death, a mother returns to her home town in order to fix the situations she couldn't resolve during her life. Ghosts haunt the colourful streets and vibrantly cluttered homes of Almodóvar's maternal melodrama, which finds three generations of women greeting hardship and challenge with boundless vitality. In the face of death, illness, sexual abuse, and natural disasters, a sisterhood of resilience and determination emerges. With a light directorial touch and the luminous performances that have come to be expected of his regular collaborators, this ranks as one of the filmmaker's most mature works.
